Marko Scholze has more than 20 years of research experience in the development and application of inverse modelling and data assimilation systems for the global carbon cycle. At Lund University he leads the “Inverse modelling of the interaction between the atmosphere and the earth’s surface” research group which investigates the global carbon cycle and its interactions with climate and humans by means of inverse modelling and assimilating observations into process-based models.  He is a member of the European Commission's CO2 Monitoring Task Force (CO2 MTF) and has been involved in several projects around the development of of the Copernicus CO2 Monitoring (CO2M) mission.

Dr. Ingrid Super is an environmental scientist at TNO who aims to build bridges between the (inverse) modelling and emission communities in support of emission reporting and verification. She obtained a PhD in urban fossil fuel emission quantification at Wageningen University (Netherlands). The PhD project involved the use of in-situ observations, high-resolution atmospheric modelling, and the development of a data assimilation system including source sector attribution using co-emitted species. After her PhD, she started working on describing uncertainties and error correlations in the prior emission data to support data assimilation studies at different scales. Currently, she works on the development of a multi-scale dynamic emission model for greenhouse gases and air pollutants, emission predictions, and improving the timing of fossil fuel emissions.

Dr Glen Peters has been at the CICERO Center for International Climate Research in Oslo for over ten years and is now a Research Director for Climate Mitigation. He performs research on the causes of recent changes in carbon dioxide emission trends at the global and country level, and how these changes link to future emission pathways consistent with global climate objectives. He has a background in mathematics and physics.

Marc Guevara is a postdoctoral researcher and coordinator of the emission working group at the Earth Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. His principal research area is atmospheric emission modelling, with a focus on development of bottom-up inventories and processing systems for creating air quality model-ready emissions. He is co-chair of the Emissions Working Group of the FAIRMODE community and member of the GEIA Steering Scientific Committee.
